Ian Hill "Miles Davis in words"
No Frills Productions, 2005

Original Sleevenotes (by Ian Hill):

"With the 50th anniversary of Miles Davis' seminal album 'Kind of Blue' emerging on the horizon I have put together my own tribute to one of the great heroes of jazz and arguably the finest album in jazz.

"'Miles Davis in words' is a different angle, and combines my other great love, 'Vocalese', the art of constructing lyrics and imaginative stories based on jazz improvised solos. With the help of my fine vocalist friends Lizzy Parks and Leo Alterelli, we have been able to create our own stories and images from the sound and artistry of the legendary Miles Davis, and we share them with you.

"Our work has only just begun, yet the work never ends..."

Ian is very interested in continuing and extending this project, and is hoping for commercial sponsorship to enable him to do so.
